Cube Steak

INGREDIENTS: |

4 cube steaks
4 potatoes
1 large onion
1/2 green pepper
4 celery stalks
4 carrots
3 tablespoon flour
4 tablespoon shortening
4 - 5 cups water |
DIRECTIONS: |

1. |
Brown cube steaks in skillet with shortening. Remove cube steaks and
put in large covered baking dish or roaster. |

Add flour to shortening and brown. Add water and mix well. Pour over
cube steak. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes to 1 hour. |

While this is cooking, peel and quarter potatoes, chop onion, green
pepper and celery. Peel and slice carrots. |

Add carrots, celery, onion, green pepper. Cook until almost done,
then add potatoes. Cook about 45 minutes or until done. May need to
thicken gravy with cornstarch. |
